Using the polymer chemistry technology that we have cultivated over
many years in the textile processing field, we seek to provide society
with products that meet the needs of customers not only in the textile
processing field, but in a wide variety of other fields as well, including
paper manufacturing and processing, water treatment, cosmetics, and
paints and inks. To be able to do this, moreover, we gather together
bright young minds and forge ahead daily with research and
development.
The research and development that we conduct is aimed at creating
water-based emulsion and dispersion technology, at synthesizing and
applying various kinds of water-soluble and water-dispersible polymers,
and at supplying other water-related chemical products that are friendly
to the environment and to people. Furthermore, in cooperation with
industry, government and academia, we are working to further improve
synthesis technology as regards water-dispersible nanoparticles and the
precision design of polymers, and to develop innovative technologies
that can overcome the difficulties with certain chemical products and
technologies that have resisted solution until now.

Inside our Shiga Konan Factory, moreover, we have also established a
laboratory that grapples with research themes geared to the times while
cooperating closely with the factory’s production department. |
